Night in the hospital

Well, we just got home from a very long 24 hours...oh wait, who am I kidding, this has been going on for a week or so!!! Elliott was diagnosed with croup last Monday, and yesterday afternoon it kept getting continually worse...so bad that we took him to urgent care, who couldn't get his breathing to regulate, so we took him the the ER...where they gave him a steroid shot...which appeared to work for like 20 minutes and then he went down hill again...so we spent the night in the hosptial!!! The good news is that he seems to be doing better, and he is in a much better mood, so that is a positive...I just hope that he will be able to rest the rest of today and tomorrow to prepare for Christmas:)
I will keep you all updated on the progress!!!

Love you all and Merry Christmas!!!

attempted photo...

So, I don't think that Christmas cards are going to be going out this year from the Schrunk family...Mainly because I have two little boys who can't hold still, even if their life depended on it, and a baby whom neither boy wants to hold because she is getting too big...here are my attempts at pictures the other day...too funny!!! and yes, that photo is of Elliott's foot!!! he decided to take a pic, while I was adjusting Ashley...hmmmm...the excitement never ends!!!

All I want for Christmas is....

well, I discovered the other day, that what the boys really need for Christmas are...Clothes Baskets!!! what entertainment they provide!!! HAHA:)

The Christmas Tree

Well, we did it!!!! we put up "the tree":) it looks really pretty, and the boys like it a lot, just like we thought they would...probably too much if you catch my drift...I have only had to say no, no about 100 more times than normal!!! this is going to be a great month, hopefully the newness will wear away soon and they will leave the pretties alone!!! but we are definitely enjoying our holiday season so far...hopefully all of you are enjoying it as well!! Happy Holidays:)

What was I thinking???

Okay, so the other night it was cold and blustery out, so I decided that it would be a great night for Chili and cinnamon rolls...hmmm???? well, the boys have never had chili before, but I thought that they would like it...boy was I right!!! they loved it...I put some in bowls and they ate it really well, I got some cute pics of them chowing down...but then....the bowls became fun things to throw!!!!!!!! oh my gosh, what a mess!!! I didn't get pics of that...I was too mad, and they were in big trouble, I didn't think picture taking would show a good example when they were in trouble...now I can laugh about it, because...WHAT WAS I THINKING!!!!!!!!! haha!!! Ashley did not get to try the chili, but she sure was "drooling" for some:) she has a checkup on Monday and I am hoping she will get the go ahead to start giving her some "good stuff!!!" what a big girl!!!

The weekend

Hello all...we made it back home here and survived another successful adventure...we went to Grandma & Grandpa Lansink's for the weekend...Abby had a wedding to be in, one of her dearest friends from college, Kate, got married on Saturday in Carroll, so Ayden and Elliott spent some bonding time with Grandma and Grandpa, while Chris, Abby & Ashley had fun at the wedding & the reception!!! it was a long weekend but we had tons of fun, so I would say it was well worth it:) The boys also liked spending time with Uncle Andrew & Aunt Lisa...they were still asking for them this morning, they wanted to play with you!!! cute:)

Turkey Day!!!

Gobble, Gobble:) We went to my brother and his wife's for Thanksgiving!!! They did an excellent job preparing the turkey and all the fixings!!! it was very yummy...the boys had lots of fun eating and playing with their cousins Ellie & Malia!! Thanks for a great Thanksgiving...

Our Weekend...

Well, we did it...we made the journey over to Grandma Jane & Grandpa George's house for the weekend!!! and what a weekend it was:) We left early Friday after noon, thinking the boys would nap on the way over...hmmmmm...yeah right, they slept until Correctionville, and then were awake for the rest of the journey!!! but we survived and they actually rode pretty well...they got pretty antsy that last 1/2 hour or so, but we survived with as little of whining as possible!!! Once we arrived in Illinois, it was none stop, go, go, go...Aunt Carolynne and Uncle Jamie came over to meet Ms Ashley for the first time, and to play with the boys...it was lots of fun. On Saturday, they got plenty of bonding time with Grandma and Grandpa:) can never go wrong with that...and then after naps, their cousins...Grace, Leah, Anna and Nicholas arrived to play, and boy did they:) Mayhem, utter mayhem:) but a very fun time had by all...on Sunday we played for a while with grandma and grandpa, but then took off to go to Kathy and Mark's and the children's house to play some more...the best part was the spaghetti lunch waiting for us:) yummy...you will have to see how much Ayden enjoyed it from his picture...cute!!! after more playing, we again hit the road to come back home...this time they actually slept:) yeah!!! Ashley got mad when we were getting to Early, so we stopped so she could eat, and then we were on the road again, until finally we reached home!!! It was a long, wonderful, exciting, never a dull moment weekend:) now for some recovery time!!!

Happy Halloween!!

Well, we did our first sucessful trick or treating adventure last night:) Last year the boys were too little and it was too cold for them to go out for their 1st Halloween, so last night we made an appearance around the neighborhood, and if I do say so myself, they were a big hit:) everyone thought that they were too cute!!!!! (of course, huh????) But, anyway, the boy's had fun and Ashley slept through it, so all-in-all, it was a great time!!
The boy's were supposed to look like scarecrows, but all the neighbors kept saying what cute Farmers, so I guess, you get what you get huh??? and little Ashley Jo was our baby chick:) cute as a button!!!
Enjoy the pics:)

Happy Birthday Chris!

Happy Birthday Chris!!!

Yesterday, Oct. 27th, was Chris' birthday:) after a long day of work, I had a "surprise" party planned for him...I say "surprise" because he wasn't all that surprised, because I am not a very good secret keeper, although I didn't tell him what was happening, he suspected something!!! But none the less, we had a fun time with friends, and enjoyed celebrating the special occassion:) as Chris would say, it is just another year closer to death...which he thinks will happen when he turns the big 30, but I don't look at it that way...I see it as another year to enjoy the blessings that we have been given...oh yeah, the boy's had fun playing with their babysitter in the basement, while we had the festivites upstairs...enjoy the pics from the night:)

Party!!

Wow, what a fun weekend:) We drove down to Grandma and Grandpa Lansink's on Saturday morning to play and have fun...Elliott rode in the tractor with Grandpa, Ayden was a little shy about the whole tractor thing, but he went on a walk around the farm with Grandma and got to see some cows, so he was happy!!

Then after a good nap, it was time to go in to Uncle Adam & Aunt Jodi's housewarming party:) It sure was a lot of fun, we had a very good time, and all of the food was excellent!!! I would say that all of your hard work has paid off, and your home looks lovely!!! Enjoy...

We partied late, and then packed the kids in and drove home...so we were all pretty tired yet today, so we just bummed around on Sunday...it was a nice, relaxing weekend:) Enjoy the photos from our fun times!!

Fun weekend!

Saturday Slide Show!

Random Funny

Okay, here is a comical story from the mouth of Elliott the other night!!!

We were all sitting on the couch, Ayden on my left, Ashley eating on my lap (as usual...can't you tell from the picutres!!), Elliott on my right, and Chris on his right...we were reading books, and Ashley interrupted, like babies tend to do with a very loud, obviously poopy diaper....well, Elliott sure didn't waste anytime, he turned and looked at me, and then looked at her bottom and said "She pooped!!!!!!!!!!" (like we didn't know!!)

Chris and I busted up laughing...we thought it was pretty cute:) I told Elliott though that since he was the first to "notice" that it was his turn to change the diaper...he didn't quite understand me, I don't think, because I ended up changing it while he just went about playing, hmmmmmm, hardly seems fair huh:)

Rainy Saturday

Happy Saturday to all!!!!
It is a rainy, dreary day here in Sioux City. Chris is working so the kids and I are home alone...just some random shots for today, poor Liberty, huh??? she is so loved, and she can't even appreciate it:)
