Christmas 2009

Well, it was an eventful Christmas, to say the least! Here at the Schrunk house, we had a flurry of activity...Chris had to have surgery on his knee on Wednesday the 23rd...it was a same day surgery, so he was in and out, especially since the wonderful snow storm that hit while he was in surgery...our plans were to drive down to Grandma and Grandpa's house on Wednesday night after the surgery...Uncle Andrew and Aunt Lisa came to stay with three of the four kiddos, so we were going to follow each other back to the farm...after some contemplation, we decided to stick with our plan, Andrew drove our car with me and the kiddos on board, and Lisa drove their vehicle with Chris stretched out in the back! It took us a little longer than normal to get there but we made it in once piece and got to spend Christmas with family!!Thank you Andrew and Lisa for all of your help!! :)

On Christmas Eve day, we stayed in the house and watched it snow and snow and snow some more!!! We had heard that church had been cancelled, which ended up being false, but we didn't have the kids ready by the time we did know it was on, so we missed out, but we did venture in to town to my grandpa and grandma Lansink's house...it was a short but sweet kind of celebration! I think we were all concerned about the storm still going on outside...thankfully we had a great time with family and we were able to make it home with little troubles, but the drifts were getting pretty high on the gravel roads...

We woke up Christmas day and the storm was still a blowing! But thanks to Rudolph, Santa was able to make a stop at the house and left some presents for the kids! They are so lucky, huh?!? We left him cookies and milk and some carrots for Rudolph...turns out Santa even left a note for them and Rudolph shared the carrots with all the other reindeer! The kids LOVED this:)

Then we waited for Adam and Jodi and kids and Aaron to make their way out to continue on with festivies...so after Grandpa digging them out of a drift, they made it and we got even MORE presents!!

Then it was our turn to venture out for the Spotts' family Christmas in Sac City...we got STUCK!! about an hour later, we were out and on our way! Thanks to Grandpa and Andrew and Aaron for digging out Aaron's truck and getting us on our way!! After that awesome celebration, we headed back to the farm, this time in Grandpa's truck, and got STUCK again!! this one wasn't too bad, and we could even see the house this time! So Grandpa walked up to the house and got the tractor to dig us out AGAIN!!

So it was a GREAT Christmas...the kids got TONS of great stuff...Thank you everyone for EVERYTHING:) Chris and I got our new present for ourselves, a new laptop! we are loving it...That is why this post is coming a little late...I have been trying to figure the ins and outs of this thing, and getting the pics on the computer and everything! We are really LOVING it!!

Here are some pics from our great celebration...
